The barugu is a deity believed to offer protection as well as bring good fortunes to the people. The barugu festival presents an avenue for sons and daughters of Ogbinbiri from all works of life to congregate and reflect on the out gone year in order to chat a new course for the new year. Like every other festival, the prestigious barugu festival is an age long traditional practice of the people of Ogbinbiri Community and had survived many centuries.
