HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT STEP DOWN FOR ANYONE HON. MRS. OBUKOME ELAINE IBRU-MUKORO SAID

Image
It has come to our notice, the baseless stories making the rounds, that I have abandoned the race for the seat at the Federal House of Representatives 2023, to represent Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu. Firstly, I must clearly state that, I will NEVER abandon the good people of my great constituency and disregard all the love and support they have shown me so far! I am certainly NOT a quitter. As the only female candidate on the platform of our great party, the APC, it should come as no surprise to anyone, that I have faced all manner of coercion, threat and intimidation geared towards getting me to drop out of this race. Rather than achieve their aims, I am further emboldened by their actions, as I forge ahead in this quest to finally bring quality representation to my dear people. The quest is not mine alone, but that of the millions of people who are still battling issues of unemployment, security challenges, lack of potable water, persistent power problems, lack of social infr...

Olorogun David Edevbie Appreciate Deltans

Image
Dear Deltans, After several months of consultations and crisscrossing the length and breadth of our dear State, the Delta State PDP Governorship Primary was finally held today May 25. Though the result was unfavourable, I am humbled by the immense goodwill shown to me across the entire State. I thank all Deltans and members of our Party, particularly the youth, for your enthusiasm and support through the process. We are driven by the vision and a strong passion for the development of our dear State, and we remain encouraged that most Deltans share in this vision. Though several unsavoury factors came into play in our politics, particularly over the last few months, we remain steadfast in our aspiration for a modernised Delta to be bequeathed to the next generation. Once again, thank you, Deltans, and may God bless our State. Olorogun David Edevbie

Obi is too stingy - PDP Chieftain, Chris Uba

Image
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain and Anambra indigene Chief Chris Uba, has described former governor Peter Obi as one the stingiest persons he has met. Uba passed the verdict when Governor Ifeanyi  Ugwuanyi of Enugu State hosted the meeting of the party. Not impressed by the quality of champagne presented to them by the host, Chief Uba, in the presence of Obi said jokingly that the meeting deserved better champagne and wine and not the type Obi served them when he was governor. Chris Uba recounted one of his several encounters with Obi at Government House, Awka when the latter was governor. He said Obi served guests with champagne “Obele ego” and the quality of wine meant for students and when anybody complained, he would reply by saying that Government House was not a bar or restaurant. Continuing Uba said: “The worst is that when one complained too much, he would start handling with his calculator, telling you how many schools and hospitals the money saved from buying c...
