RESOUNDING BIRTHDAY COMMEMORATION OF A NIGER DELTA FINESSE COMRADE UMUKORO NESTA DIMBAINIMIBOFA, AKA VOICE OF THE NIGER DELTA YOUTHS AS WE CHRONICLE HIS LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS

The 6th day of December is an exceptional day and would remain special in the world's calendar. This is not because the heavens were created on that day or that the world started on that day but simply because a remarkable event took place on that date.

The 6th December heralds the birth of an icon into this eventful world. Moreover, the birth of a man naturally elicits joy and brings happiness to the family of the newborn, the birth of this freedom fighter is not different.

No doubt birthday commemoration is a worthwhile event in the life of every homo sapiens as it begins man's journey to life on this planet earth.

Once upon a time in ancient Amukpe kingdom in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, in the serenity of the day, the cry of a child was heard in the compound of elder Pa Lucky Umukoro, whose name is Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro.

There is no arguing the fact that little Nesta, is a destiny child as family members and well-wishers congregated to give him a rousing welcome befitting of a king into this eventful world.

Consequently, whether or not the parents of young Nesta knew he would grow to become a liberator of his people, his antecedence in this few years of his sojourn on this planet earth is proof that he has the blue blood of an emancipator running through his arteries.

As it is often said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, little Nesta began his journey to greatness in earnest.

He attended Ethiope Primary School Amukpe Sapele, where he rose to become the senior prefect, a position that is an exclusive preserve for students who distinguished themselves in learning and character.

However, not satisfied with his elementary education, young Nesta proceeded to Okpe grammar school Amukpe Sapele for his secondary education where he became the laboratory coordinator and graduated in flying colours.

And like with any child with greatness, comrade Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro, discovered his destiny at a pretty young age as he enlisted into the Niger Delta Liberationist Movement under the able Leadership of the High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Gen. Tompolo G.O.C.

As a protege of Gen. Tompolo, the multiple awards winning peace ambassador conducted his affairs while under the tutelage of the Ibe- Ebidouwei 1 of the Niger Delta with a high sense of patriotism and unflinching loyalty.

To this freedom fighter cum peace ambassador, the slavery of one Okpe and Izon is the slavery of all, while the emancipation of all is his watchword.

After the declaration of amnesty to the Niger Delta Ex-agitators by the late President Umaru Musa Yaradua, while also acknowledging the fact that there is a paradigm shift in the Niger Delta Emancipation Struggle from arms to the pen, divine providence smiled on comrade Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro as he became one of the beneficiaries of the presidential amnesty programme (PAP) to study Electrical Engineering in the prestigious Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State.

Like a goldfish that has no hiding place and also like a candle which cannot be put under a table, comrade Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro's light couldn't be hidden or suppressed as it continues to shine out even for the visually impaired to see.

His noble activities in the highest citadel of learning became widespread leaving both the University authority and student community with no option than to decorate him with prestigious awards amongst which are; the President of all Niger Delta students under the presidential Amnesty programme before he graduated with a second class upper, Peace Ambassador of Igbinedion University Okada, Effective Leadership Award by the National Association of Presidential Amnesty Students Worldwide. And also he is a recipient of the Amnesty Peace Ambassador Award and is currently the coordinator of Delta Central Senatorial District under a liberation movement called Rescue Nigerian youths.

At this point, it will not be out of place to associate the name comrade Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro, with global peace ambassadors.

Therefore, as this illustrious son of the Niger Delta becomes a year older today, we aggregate our voices in unison with all lovers of justice and freedom over the globe to trumpet a thunderous felicitation to this Liberationist.

It is also our wish that God Almighty will in his infinite mercy continue to bless, guard and protect him and grant him many more fruitful years in health and peace of mind.

Once again we say hearty birthday commemoration to the voice of the Niger Delta youths comrade Dimbainimibofa Nesta Umukoro.
