HAPPY CENTURIOUS BIRTHDAY COMMEMORATION TO HRH CHIEF RICHARD UMUKORO ITEMISAN

Once upon a time in ancient Eroune village in Okpe kingdom of Delta State, a cry of a baby was heard in the compound of Pa Umukoro Itemisan. The birth of this destiny child signalled a new dawn and heralded good tidings.

More so, the atmosphere on that auspicious day was nothing short of a carnival as family members and well-wishers congregated to celebrate the triumphant entry of little Richard Umukoro, into this eventful world. Unarguably, the birth of a man begins his journey to life on this planet earth.

Therefore, as the Patriarch began this marathon to live, he was armed with the fact that the beauty of life is not just in its longevity but by the quality with which it is spent, hence his pursuit of greatness in obscurity.

Born into the royal family of Itemisan, Pa Chief Richard Umukoro Itemisan, began his educational journey at the then missionary school where he obtained the mandatory certification. However, not satisfied with this level of education coupled with his growing desire for a more healthy society, he ventured into traditional medicine and became a master in the field.

Moved with the undying passion of saving lives, Pa Chief Richard Umukoro Itemisan, took seriously his tradomedical trade through which many lives were saved as he applies dexterity in his chosen profession.

No doubt, both his educational and traditional medical skills was a milestone achievement, especially because at a time when his peers and contemporaries are necks deep into trading of oil palm with the slave masters, the Patriarch thought it wise to equip himself with information acknowledging the fact that education is the bedrock of any society.

After the accumulation of knowledge to the Methuselah of our time which was designed by the Uncreated Creator to impact same to his people and humanity in general as he took up the job of a tutor, where he groomed mentored many.


Worthy of attestation is the fact that Papa's knowledge is not limited to the classroom, as his uncanny wisdom in traditional matters has endeared him with his peers who often throng his palace to tap from his reservoir of knowledge and experience. It is also gratifying to note that there are still people among the living that have an unblemished private and public record of which Pa Chief Richard Umukoro Itemisan, stands tall.

It is believed that rewards always await those who distinguished themselves, no wonder why the then British Colonialists couldn't look any further but to rest the leadership of the ancient Okpe kingdom on his lineage after the demise of its first ruler HRM Esezi 1.

At this point, it will not be out of place to say that the Almighty God has satisfied this Patriarch with the longevity of life as he is now the oldest man in the ancient Okpe kingdom of 19 communities.

It is with a singular honour and privilege that I announce the 10th decades birthday anniversary of Pa Chief Richard Umukoro Itemisan.


In the same vain I aggregate my voice in unison with all well-wishers around the globe to say hearty century birthday felicitations to a grandpa, wishing him God's guidance and protection and also many more healthy years.
