SECEDING DELTA STATE, ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS APC CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION TO HON EBIAKPO EZEBRI FROM DELTA SOUTH, A SURE BET
Politics as it is known is strictly a game of number, while democracy is anchored on the principle of rule of law, equity, fairness and justice.
As 2023, general elections draw nearer and the political waters in Nigeria become murkier by the day, the political horse race has equally become even swifter. Though it is not unusual that the political atmosphere in the country is laced with tension, anxiety, intrigues, etc as a result of the forthcoming general elections in 2023, the times suggest that political bigwigs and gladiators have started oiling their political weapons in readiness to take a shot.
However, while some have overtly made their political ambition known, others prefer to keep their cards close to their chest as they begin the perilous political odyssey.
Although, it is no crime for anyone to nurse any political ambition or embark on a political journey, it is expected that the vehicle through which such a journey will be embarked upon should be on perfect working condition.
Therefore, as the various political parties in the country embark on house cleaning, alignment, and realignment, the nation's ruling political party and the opposition party in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress APC, should not be left out or caught napping in this political marathon to 2023.
Undoubtedly, politics is a social science that involves a high level of arithmetics, i.e calculations, and permutations with political parties remaining the vehicle to ascending to power. To this end, as the race to elect members of the Delta State working committee of the APC, come October 2021, intensifies, the party leadership must employ the services of a seasoned marketing manager with not just the requisite skills but indomitable willpower to sell its products (candidates) in 2023, general elections.
Therefore, we recommend the right man for the job of the Delta State APC, Chairmanship position to be none other than HON EBIAKPO EZEBRI, from Delta South, judging by his antecedence as a grassroots mobilizer, and a staunch believer of the progressives ideals.
Also, going forward in advancing the argument of zoning and its importance in the Nigerian political space cannot be overemphasized, because it provides fairness, inclusiveness, and gives minority groups a sense of belonging.
It is in the light of the foregoing and in aligning with the political philosophy of "quid pro quo" that we say give the Ijaws of Delta South the APC, Chairmanship slot, and we shall give the APC, our votes in 2023, in reciprocity as anything short of this would be an agenda in futility and dead on arrival.
While we respect the plight of other ethnic groups in Delta State for the position of chairman, the Ijaws are most strategically positioned at the moment in the sense that over the years their support to other ethnic groups has not been handsomely rewarded thus making them feel betrayed and abandoned.
Therefore, it is only wise and appropriate for the APC, to concede the Chairmanship position to the Ijaws in Delta South in order to harvest their bountiful votes in 2023, general elections.
Wisdom, the Holy Bible says is profitable to direct.
Once again the dream of the APC, occupying the OSADEBE HOUSE is only realisable with the giving of HON EBIAKPO EZEBRI the state party's driver's seat...
